JINS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter JINS) will release its eyewear collection "JINS × Heatherwick Studio," a collaboration with the design collective "Heatherwick Studio" known for its commitment to materials and craftsmanship and innovative designs, starting from Thursday, May 14, 2026, at select JINS stores and the JINS online shop (www.jins.com).
A challenge by a design studio known for massive architectural works, applied to a single pair of eyewear.
JINS has always collaborated with globally active designers and architects, expanding the possibilities of eyewear through "design" with an unconventional approach, and developing numerous projects that offer new value to customers, which have received significant public response.
Now, as a new partner, JINS welcomes "Heatherwick Studio," a design collective based in London and Shanghai. They are one of the world's most notable design studios, driving innovative projects in diverse fields from urban development and architecture to product design, creating new experiential value through design.
They have worked on numerous colossal landmarks such as New York's "Little Island" and Tokyo's "Azabudai Hills," always aiming for the "coexistence of nature and people." Their extraordinary passion has now been poured into eyewear.
Focusing on the organic beauty brought by liquids. Eyewear where design and function coexist.
This time, JINS and Heatherwick Studio chose "Liquid" as their concept. They shed the conventional notion of industrial rationality and linear forms that traditional eyewear has pursued, elevating ripples spreading on the water surface and the ever-changing flow of liquid into design. While featuring a playful and unique asymmetrical form, it also firmly secures the ideal comfort as eyewear. The design, as if capturing a fleeting moment of melted liquid, gives a gentle breath to facial features.
For materials, they adopted resin frames (2 types, 8 variations) that create a profound expression, and titanium frames (2 types, 4 variations) that emit a sophisticated sparkle. The collection will be available in a total of 6 colors, inspired by various liquids existing in nature.
