Ginza, where tradition and innovation intersect. A new viewing experience that weaves "connections" through art.
Ginza is a town where tradition and innovation breathe. The "JINS Ginza Store," which will serve as a new hub for communication in its center, features a unique exterior realized by plasterers' handiwork, based on the concept of "soft Japanese harmony" by architect Sou Fujimoto.
The store, which shows contrasting expressions on the first floor and basement first floor, welcomes sculptor Kohei Nawa's work "Snow-Deer." Utilizing the atrium space, it offers visitors new perspectives and insights through the experience of appreciating the work from all angles.
The art gallery on the basement first floor, the first for a JINS store, is a stage for disseminating Japanese creativity to the world. As an open space where people gather through art, it aims to weave "enishi" (connections) with the town of Ginza, customers, and the store's concept.
Artist Mika Ninagawa captures the momentary shimmer of light and color.
The first phase of the art gallery exhibition featured "Rikka" by Senko Ikenobo, the next headmaster of Ikenobo, the origin of ikebana, deeply engaging with traditional Japanese aesthetics.
For this second phase, we have invited artist Mika Ninagawa, who has gained high acclaim both domestically and internationally for her unique visual expression. Her exhibition "Flowers, Shimmering Light" leads viewers to a vivid and new viewing experience, as if melting into the light within the photographs.
JINS will continue to disseminate the diverse charms of Japanese creativity, of which Japan is proud, from Ginza to the world.
Artist Mika Ninagawa's comment:
Exhibition title: Flowers, Shimmering Light.
Just like light overflowing the moment a window is opened,
The world is so full of color.
Everything beautifully changes,
Never showing the same expression twice.
That momentary shimmer,
I want to gently scoop it up before it disappears,
And keep it close.
Every time I press the shutter,
I deeply merge with the light of this world,
Barely maintaining a wavering outline.
