Jinki Ittai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture; Representative Director: Dr. Kanaoka; hereinafter "Jinki Ittai") is pleased to announce that it has transitioned to a new development phase aimed at building a general-purpose robot platform based on its unique advanced robotics technology.

In this project, Jinki Ittai's proprietary force control technology, power-amplified bilateral control technology, and other advanced robotics technologies will be applied to existing collaborative robots to achieve early social implementation in workplaces currently suffering from arduous labor.

Background: From "Deepening Technology" to "Deploying Technology"

"Deepening Technology" through PoC Development

Through "Jinki Platform," an intellectual property utilization service based on advanced robotics technology, Jinki Ittai has collaborated with participating companies such as practical application companies (users) and productization companies (manufacturers) to create numerous innovative PoC prototypes. Previous developments, represented by "Type Zero Jinki," "Type Zero Two Jinki," "Jinki Stewart Platform," and "Jinki Cart," enabled the mechanization of difficult-to-automate on-site tasks by intuitively controlling "immense power" with "precise force control" through zero-based design, which is challenging for conventional industrial robots and hydraulic heavy machinery. Through these demonstrations, Jinki Ittai has accumulated unique knowledge in dynamics-based robot control engineering technology, deepening its technology.

"Deepening Technology" using Collaborative Robots

In parallel with the development of zero-based PoC prototypes as described above, we have repeatedly conducted basic research and evaluations using collaborative robots as evaluation machines, focusing on improving robot arm controllability and operability, such as avoiding singular postures and implementing remote control technology utilizing infinite rotation mechanisms. Jinki Ittai's force control technology is unique yet versatile enough to be implemented in many collaborative robot arms. For example, it was implemented in Kinova's 7-axis robot arm Gen3 from Canada and allowed many visitors to experience intuitive operation at the 2025 International Robot Exhibition (iREX2025) held last December.

"Business Deployment" using Collaborative Robots: Building a General-Purpose Robot Platform for Early Social Implementation in Workplaces Suffering from Arduous Labor

Jinki Ittai has commenced a new initiative for early social implementation in heavy-duty work sites, which are Jinki Ittai's target, based on both the knowledge of force control and power-amplified bilateral control cultivated through "development of dedicated machines with zero-based design" and the implementation know-how accumulated through "basic research using collaborative robot arms."

In this initiative, Jinki Ittai is advancing the construction of a general-purpose robot platform that enables early social implementation in workplaces currently suffering from arduous labor, by implementing Jinki Ittai's unique force control and power-amplified bilateral control technologies into existing collaborative robots that can withstand operation in heavy-duty work sites, thereby realizing the "Jinki Bilateral Arm."

Aim of this Initiative: Building the Fastest Route to Social Implementation

The characteristic of this project is the "fastest social implementation of unique force control and power-amplified bilateral control technologies."

・ Improved Implementation Speed, Reduced Development Costs The Jinki Bilateral Arm achieves high-output, dexterous force control and intuitive power-amplified bilateral control through Jinki Ittai's proprietary technology. By utilizing various collaborative robots, it skips the research and development and verification periods that would occur with proprietary hardware development, significantly shortening the lead time and cost to on-site deployment.

・ Mechanization of Difficult-to-Automate Tasks Even in environments where it is difficult to build automation systems, such as factory lines with high-mix low-volume production or unstructured tasks, the Jinki Bilateral Arm can be flexibly installed and operated as a physical augmentation device for workers, as it is "ready to use by just plugging it in."

・ Reduced Introduction and Maintenance Costs through RaaS The Jinki Bilateral Arm is provided as RaaS (Robotics as a Service), allowing users to reduce introduction costs and potential maintenance and repair costs.

First Public Unveiling at Japan IT Week 2026 [Spring] (within Advantech Co., Ltd. booth)

The collaborative robot "Jinki Bilateral Arm," equipped with Jinki Ittai's unique force control and power-amplified bilateral control technologies, will be unveiled for the first time at the "Embedded & Edge & IoT Development EXPO" within the Japan IT Week 2026 [Spring] exhibition, at the booth of Advantech Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taito-ku, Tokyo). Please refer to the related release below for exhibition details.

Future Outlook

Jinki Ittai will accelerate the implementation of its unique control technology into collaborative robots, along with related technology and business development, to promote the mechanization of heavy-duty tasks that have been difficult to automate. Through market development and needs exploration via this initiative, we aim for early productization and serviceization.

Currently, we have received needs such as the following, and we will continue to promote market development. (Examples)

・ Manufacturing sites where conventional industrial robot introduction is difficult due to narrow spaces

・ Sites requiring high-mix low-volume production or frequent line changes, where automation hurdles are high

・ Handling processes in high-temperature environments

・ Work processes within cleanrooms that require time for entry preparation
