In its 6th year, the Internet Media Awards 2026 focused on content and activities published or highlighted during 2025 (January 1 to December 31, 2025). We received 186 entries through public applications and recommendations from our committee members. We are pleased to announce the winners, which were determined following a primary selection process by JIMA members and a final selection through discussions by a panel of experts and specialists.
Awards were presented in six categories: 'Investigative Journalism,' 'Visual & Audio Content,' 'Data Insights,' 'Social Action,' 'Sponsored Content,' and the 'Selection Committee Special Award,' which was added following committee deliberations, totaling 7 winning works and activities.
Furthermore, the 'Grand Prix' was awarded to '3D Tells the Story: The Large-Scale Fire in Saganoseki, Oita' by the Photo Department and Data Investigative Journalism Department of Kyodo News.
Additionally, three works were selected for the 'U30’s VIEW' award, where two committee members under the age of 30, who represent the next generation, selected outstanding online content based on their own sensibilities and unique perspectives.
The full list of winners, the selection committee, and comments from the recipients can be viewed on the awards list page.
