The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing the 'Global ICT Industry Collaboration Promotion Project (Armenia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan)' to promote collaboration between Japanese companies in need of innovative high-tech solutions and globally active local tech companies and startups. As part of this project, 31 global tech companies from these three countries will exhibit at 'Japan IT Week 2026 Spring' (April 8-10, 2026, Tokyo Big Sight), following last year's success.
Providing Collaboration Opportunities for Japanese Companies Facing IT and DX Talent Challenges Since 2023, this project has aimed to form collaborative relationships based on business with Japanese firms and to build sustainable, reproducible industrial linkage models. The exhibiting companies are highly regarded in Western markets but are relatively unknown in Japan, posing challenges for Japanese firms in visualizing potential partnerships due to language barriers and lack of track records. JICA aims to contribute to the strengthening of Japanese industrial competitiveness and market revitalization by providing these collaboration opportunities.
Carefully Selected Global Tech Companies These companies were selected based on the specific business challenges identified by Japanese firms during the previous Japan IT Week, such as 'improving development speed through AI' and 'supplementing internal engineering resources.' Many are entering the Japanese market for the first time, while some already have experience working with major Japanese corporations.
Business Matching Held During the Event The project secretariat will provide free business matching support, including interpretation, for Japanese companies seeking to solve business challenges using AI and other technologies, or looking for new business partners and offshore destinations. This is a prime opportunity to meet cutting-edge global tech companies directly.
