JGC Holdings Partners with UK-based Configuring Ltd. to Develop Automated Engineering Tool "Configurator"

JGC Holdings Corporation announced that its subsidiary, JGC Corporation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with UK-based Configuring Ltd. to develop "Configurator," an automated engineering tool.

Configuring Ltd. is a technology provider with advanced design automation capabilities. The two companies will combine JGC Group's engineering expertise with Configuring's technology to develop the tool. By rapidly analyzing digitized engineering knowledge, the tool aims to go beyond traditional rule-based design to flexibly derive optimal design solutions.

This initiative addresses critical industry challenges: the increasing scale and complexity of projects and the urgent need for knowledge transfer from veteran engineers. By redefining and digitizing expert knowledge into robust organizational assets, JGC aims to create a design environment less dependent on individual experience, thereby significantly improving efficiency and stabilizing quality.

This development is part of JGC's DX strategy under its '2040 Vision' and 'IT Grand Plan 2030.' Initial validation will take place in the domestic life science business, with plans for a phased expansion into other areas by 2030.
