Japan FM Network Co., Ltd. (JFNC) produces the radio program 'Kaze to Rock' (DJ: Michihiko Yanai). On the broadcasts of Saturday, May 16th and Saturday, May 23rd, Naozumi Masuko, the vocalist of the rock band Dohatsuten, will appear as a guest for the first time in 17 years for a two-week special feature.
This appearance commemorates Naozumi Masuko's milestone of turning 60 in 2026, and through a dialogue with his long-time friend Michihiko Yanai, a time traveling between the 'past' and the 'future' will unfold.
The first half of the program will focus on his memories of the Great East Japan Earthquake and his involvement with Fukushima, telling how words and decisions made immediately after the disaster have led to his current activities. He will also re-examine the role of music as he felt it through reconstruction support concerts and songwriting.
In the second half, the talk will shift to Naozumi Masuko's current state of mind and future activities at the age of 60. He will also talk about the reason he continues to perform in over 70 live shows a year and his 'lifelong active' stance.
Centered around his representative song 'Otona no Susume,' which became a hot topic in commercials, the program will also touch on the theme of 'what it means to be an adult' from the perspective of Masuko, who has just turned 60. Please listen to the dialogue between Naozumi Masuko and Michihiko Yanai on 'Kaze to Rock' for the first time in 17 years.
