[First in Japan] AI Avatars Introduced for Municipal Counters and Tourist Information, "Uchi no AI Avatar" Begins Pilot Experiment with Saitama Prefecture's Nagatoro Town "Toronyan" [JetB Inc.]

JetB Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hayato Takeuchi; hereinafter "JetB") has today, March 27, 2026 (Friday), commenced a pilot experiment for AI counter services and tourist information, utilizing its AI avatar service "Uchi no AI Avatar" to create a 3D avatar of Nagatoro Town, Saitama Prefecture's official mascot character "Toronyan."

This initiative, which involves creating a 3D avatar of the town's official mascot character "Toronyan" and combining it with generative AI, is the first public case of its kind (※) at a municipal general counter in Japan.

Goals of This Pilot Experiment

Nagatoro Town is one of Saitama Prefecture's leading tourist destinations, attracting approximately 3 million visitors annually. In recent years, the number of foreign tourists has also increased, leading to diverse inquiries at the town hall counter not only from residents but also from domestic and international tourists.

On the other hand, the town has traditionally lacked a general information counter, and improving the efficiency of visitor services and providing multilingual support have been long-standing challenges.

In this pilot experiment, by positioning the beloved local character "Toronyan" as the "face" of the AI, we aim to realize a "counter where anyone can easily speak." It will provide a wide range of information, from administrative procedures to tourist information, in 15 languages.
