JEPLAN Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Masaki Takao, hereinafter referred to as 'JEPLAN') announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership (hereinafter referred to as 'the Partnership') with Syre, a textile impact company headquartered in Sweden, to realize fiber-to-fiber recycling.
Through this partnership, we will accelerate the establishment of next-generation polyester circular technology and efforts towards large-scale commercialization by merging Syre's global business vision and technological integration capabilities with JEPLAN's proven track record in PET chemical recycling, cultivated over more than 10 years.
Based on this partnership, JEPLAN and Syre will jointly work on developing new solutions and advancing technology to realize fiber-to-fiber recycling on a commercial scale. This is expected to further accelerate Syre's timeline for full-scale commercial deployment, aiming to produce several tons of recycled polyester derived from fiber-to-fiber recycling as samples suitable for spinning verification and product lines by various brands in the latter half of 2026.
Syre CEO Dennis Nobelius stated about this partnership: 'This partnership aims to achieve both speed and scale without any compromise on quality. By leveraging JEPLAN's many years of technical and operational experience, we believe it will be possible to significantly accelerate the process towards commercialization.'
Furthermore, JEPLAN CEO Masaki Takao stated: 'We are very honored to be able to collaborate with Syre in our efforts to advance fiber-to-fiber recycling to a meaningful scale through this partnership. By adding our chemical recycling expertise, cultivated over many years, to Syre's high aspirations, business foundation, and global expansion in technological integration, we believe a strong foundation will be built for the creation and acceleration of innovative solutions in the textile industry.'
JEPLAN operates a PET chemical recycling plant targeting fibers in Kitakyushu City and possesses demonstration and semi-commercial facilities capable of consistently carrying out processes from technical verification to scale-up.
Syre CEO Dennis Nobelius also stated: 'Impact is at our core, and we will choose the path that allows us to reach substantial scale the fastest. This initiative further strengthens the clear path towards the construction of our first large-scale plant in Vietnam. We are proud to announce our partnership with JEPLAN today and plan to announce further industry-leading partnerships in various locations around the world sequentially.'
The JEPLAN Group will continue to advance collaborations with domestic and international partners to realize its mission of 'Circulating Everything,' striving to lead the circular economy as a united group.
