Easy to use just by topping! A new protein-rich product joins the Dry Pack series

The Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union (JCCU; Representative Director and President: Chitose Arai) will release "CO-OP Soy Soboro and Vegetable Mix Dry Pack (with carrots and corn)" on April 1, 2026, as part of its easy-to-use Dry Pack series that requires no preparation.

Soy meat, an alternative meat made from agricultural products, is gaining attention due to food issues caused by global population growth, concerns over the environmental impact of livestock farming, and the recent rise in health consciousness. Beyond being rich in plant-based protein and low in fat and calories, soy meat is expected to see growing demand as a food solution for environmental issues, as it can be produced with fewer resources than livestock products and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

"CO-OP Soy Soboro and Vegetable Mix Dry Pack" is a product that mixes crumbled soy meat with colorful vegetables. It is a new product that allows users to easily consume protein, enabling them to take in both soy protein and vegetables together, in response to the requests of co-op members who want to "provide healthy, balanced meals for their families."

The Co-op Dry Pack series currently includes products such as "Soy Dry Pack," "Hijiki Dry Pack," "Sweet Corn Dry Pack," "Mixed Beans Dry Pack," and "Burdock Dry Pack." The dry pack manufacturing method is characterized by steaming ingredients using their own moisture without adding water, which prevents the umami and flavor from dissolving into water, thereby preserving the original taste of the ingredients.

Furthermore, this product is part of the "Healthy Co-op" initiative, which supports health from the dining table by addressing the dietary habits and health concerns of co-op members. In response to requests for easier ways to consume healthy food in daily life, we are expanding the Dry Pack series as a health-support food that allows for delicious and nutritious meals even on busy days.
