What is BMX Racing?
BMX is a sport originated in the 1970s in the United States when children imitated motocross motorcycles. Up to 8 riders start simultaneously on a 300-450 meter course, competing for finishing order with dynamic riding, which led to its global spread. From its free-spirited competitive nature, a derivative sport called freestyle was also born. BMX racing was adopted as an official event in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has become a popular sport worldwide. The Japan BMX Federation was established in 1984 and actively organizes BMX racing competitions and promotional activities.
