The All Japan BMX Federation was established in 1984 and actively holds BMX racing competitions and promotional activities. The origins of BMX trace back to the 1970s in America, where children imitated motocross on their bicycles. It has spread worldwide due to its dynamic racing, where up to eight riders start simultaneously on a 300-450m course to compete for finishing order. It has been an official Olympic event since the 2008 Beijing Games and is a popular sport around the world.
