Courtesy Visit to Ofunato City Mayor, Iwate Prefecture, Venue for All Japan Bicycle-Sprinting Championships BMX Racing

The All Japan BMX Federation (JBMXF) Representative Director Koji Watanabe, along with Mr. Hiroaki Onoguchi, Vice Chairman of the Japan Cycling Federation (JCF), and Mr. Hokuto Fukuyama, Chairman of the Tohoku BMX Association, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Kiyoshi Fuchigami, Mayor of Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture, on April 9th. Ofunato City is the venue for the '43rd All Japan Bicycle-Sprinting Championships - BMX Racing' to be held from October 17th to 18th.

Upon receiving an explanation of the event's overview, Mayor Fuchigami stated, 'We are grateful for the decision to hold the All Japan Championships in Ofunato City. We view this event as an excellent opportunity to promote Ofunato City and are willing to cooperate throughout the preparation stages. The Sanriku BMX Stadium is a facility that utilizes the site of a closed school, and I have witnessed the process of course creation and maintenance. I am personally delighted that we have been able to attract the All Japan Championships after building up our achievements. In Ofunato City, there are few opportunities for children to experience new sports, and the Tohoku BMX Association has conveyed the wonders of BMX through experience sessions. I hope that through the success of the tournament, BMX will become established in Ofunato City.' We received these warm words.

The All Japan BMX Federation will make thorough preparations to successfully lead the event in collaboration with Ofunato City, the organizer Japan Cycling Federation, and the host Tohoku BMX Association.
