Island Trip Cruise Recruitment Has Started!

The JB Honshi-Setouchi Expressway Group will once again hold the 5th "Setouchi Island Trip Fes 2026 ~Connecting Islands and Learning for the Future~", centered around Yajima PA, to discover the islands of Setouchi and connect learning to the future. The 'Island Trip Cruise', which will be operated in conjunction with the festival, is a special cruise where you can visit the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and enjoy learning, experiences, and interaction. Starting today, we have begun accepting applications for the Kitagijima (Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture) cruise and Ushijima (Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture) cruise, which will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, departing from Yajima Port. The Kitagijima cruise will take you to unique spots on Kitagijima, such as the observation deck and the former cinema 'Hikari Theatre', while experiencing the history of stone quarrying and the island's culture. The Ushijima cruise is an environmental conservation program for families, where participants can learn about environmental issues through enjoyable activities such as beach cleanups. 1. Date and Time: Saturday, May 23, 2026, 9:45 AM - 4:15 PM (Assembly at 9:15 AM) 2. Itinerary: Assemble at the special reception in Parking Area 2 of Yajima PA. ~Travel to Kitagijima Island by chartered boat~ → Guided tour within Kitagijima Island / Lunch on the island → Arrive and disband at the special reception in Parking Area 2 of Yajima PA. *A tour conductor will not accompany you, but the organizer will be present.* 3. Eligibility: Elementary school students and older. *Elementary and junior high school students require guardian accompaniment.* 4. Capacity: 40 people (first-come, first-served basis) *Minimum participants required: 1 person.* *Applications may close even if capacity is not met.* 5.
