JAYID Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Nanako Akiyoshi), a global PR agency, supports PR TIMES’ “April Dream” initiative, which encourages companies to share their aspirations on April 1. This press release expresses our vision and outlines what we are genuinely committed to pursuing for the future.
Reflections on Children’s Future in a Turbulent World
Even at this very moment, wars and conflicts continue across the world, unjustly depriving those in vulnerable positions, especially children, of their futures. The impact extends far beyond the loss of education and everyday life; it deeply undermines their ability to trust others and to believe in the future.
At the same time, artificial intelligence is advancing at an extraordinary pace, fundamentally reshaping the way we work, learn, and create. There are moments when this transformation is genuinely exciting, offering a sense that human potential is expanding.
Yet alongside that excitement, we cannot avoid confronting deeper questions: Will human qualities continue to hold value? Will effort and persistence still matter? Even we, as adults, find ourselves navigating this uncertainty.
When faced with news of war and rapid technological change, my thoughts inevitably return to a single question: What can we leave behind for the next generation? No matter how the times change or how technology evolves, what a child learns remains within them, shaping who they become.
Why a Global PR Agency Is Stepping Into This Space
At JAYID, we have long worked to communicate the value of companies across borders.
In a time when both Japan and the world are undergoing profound transformation, creating meaningful impact requires more than simply delivering information. It requires identifying strengths that have yet to be articulated, giving them clarity and meaning, and ensuring they reach the people who need them.
As for myself, my academic background in War Studies at a UK graduate school has shaped my perspective, not only in understanding the structures that lead to conflict, but also in considering what is required to prevent it.
The ability to seek understanding of the world.
The resilience to encounter different values without retreating into fear.
The capacity to think independently, express one’s ideas, and engage in dialogue.
The strength to navigate a rapidly changing world without losing empathy for others.
I believe these are what we call “education.” And ultimately, I believe that education is the only path through which war can be prevented.
As a PR company, JAYID aims to contribute to this role by leveraging our strengths in language, strategic thinking, and the power of information dissemination.
Message from CEO Nanako Akiyoshi
The strength to live anywhere in the world.
The flexibility to remain open when encountering different cultures and values.
The ability to think independently and stand by one’s own words in the face of questions with no clear answers.
I believe it is the responsibility of our generation to cultivate these qualities.
The new initiative we are envisioning in Singapore is an extension of this belief. It is about how we can apply our experiences, the perspectives we have gained, and the capabilities we have developed through PR, for the benefit of the next generation.
Dreams do not take shape simply by being spoken.
Yet without putting them into words, nothing begins.
That is why I chose to write here again this year, having been given this opportunity. We will continue our efforts to realize a world where children feel like they "want to grow up quickly."
New Challenge in Singapore
JAYID has, through its PR work, delivered values to society that had not yet been articulated. From now on, we aim to utilize this knowledge for the benefit of the next generation.
What we are currently envisioning is a new initiative to support families and children engaged in global education from Singapore, a place where diverse cultures intersect.
-
The ability to view crossing borders not as a special challenge, but as a natural choice.
-
The ability to encounter different languages and cultures not just with anxiety, but as an opportunity to open up the future.
-
The ability for children to step lightly into the world, and for parents to choose their lives with a broad perspective.
We will begin initiatives to foster these abilities.
