Achieved 170,000 tons of CO2 reduction with "Carbon Neutral Action 2026"
Japan JC is working on promoting carbon neutrality as a key project for FY2026. Aiming to reduce CO2 from daily efforts in each household, "Carbon Neutral Action 2026" was implemented over three days: DAY1, DAY2, and DAY3. Primarily targeting Junior Chamber members, an "Action List" showing decarbonization actions was presented in advance, and they were asked to practice these actions at home or work on each implementation day. At the end of the day, they reported which actions they were able to practice via an online answer form, answering "Yes" or "No."
On DAY1 and DAY2, the "Action List" was narrowed down to 7 items, first to let participants know that decarbonization actions can be easily incorporated into daily life, and to serve as practice. On DAY3, the level was slightly raised, and the "Action List" was expanded to 20 items, allowing participants to learn and practice more actions, thereby broadening their knowledge and actions. Over the three days of DAY1-DAY3, a total of over 17 tons* (17,591,844 grams) of CO2 emissions were reduced. The CO2 reduction amount for each action item is calculated based on the Ministry of the Environment's Decokatsu database (https://ondankataisaku.env.go.jp/decokatsu/decokatsu_db/).
