The Kanto Area Council of the Junior Chamber International Japan (Chairman: Kenyu Oyanagi) will hold the "Regional Innovation Co-creation Strategy 2026" in Uenohara City, Yamanashi Prefecture, on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026.

This project aims to realize a sustainable local society by creating a cycle of people, relationships, and activities within the region, not by treating the regional issues of multicultural coexistence, disaster prevention, and regional economic creation individually, but by linking them interactively.

Background

Currently, the Kanto region is facing a decline in the working-age population and a shortage of local leaders, making the sustainability of local communities a major issue.

In addition, there are complex issues such as an increase in foreign residents, regional differences in disaster prevention awareness, and economic stagnation. There is a growing need to address these issues not independently but in a cross-cutting manner.

This project will take an integrated view of these issues and create opportunities to build relationships, thereby unlocking new potential for the region.

Project Features

① Cross-Sectoral Structural Design Designed to integrate multicultural coexistence, disaster prevention, and the regional economy, implemented not as a one-off event but as a "connecting mechanism."

② Experience Design that Generates Action In addition to seminars, the structure aims to move from understanding to action through hands-on, dialogue-based, and participatory content.

③ Replicable Regional Model The knowledge gained through this project will be structured as a model that can be deployed in various regions.
