In this course, we will view two artworks online together with a facilitator who has learned facilitation from an expert in interactive art viewing. The artworks are filled with the historical background in which the artists lived and their messages. The joy of interactive art viewing lies not in searching for the 'correct answer', but in exchanging opinions among participants on how 'I' view and think while appreciating the work, and pondering how to navigate the current era. No prior study or knowledge about artworks is required. With a drink in hand, why not take your time to loosely and deeply appreciate wonderful artworks, enjoy chatting, and explore the perspective of 'I' hidden within the art. ★ What is Interactive Art Viewing? Based on VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) developed at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art, New York) in the mid-80s, it is an art appreciation method where a group looks at a single artwork and shares (through dialogue) their realizations and thoughts. In Japan, it spread to general working adults after becoming a hot topic in museum community activities and business books, and is widely implemented in areas such as support for the elderly and socially isolated/lonely individuals, as well as the medical field. By continuously practicing 'looking, listening, feeling, thinking, and speaking', it is said to be effective not only in building communication skills such as creativity and empathy, but also in fostering critical thinking and negative capability. - Those who want to experience interactive art viewing or are interested in it - Those who want to talk and discuss artworks with everyone - Those who want to explore their own perspectives through artworks - Those who are interested in facilitating interactive art viewing or want to try it ◆ Date & Time: Thursday, April 16, 2026, 19:00 - 20:30 (Room opens at 18:50) ◆ Facilitators: - Yuko Watanabe: Career Support Designer at Japan Association for Women's Education, Interactive Art Viewing Facilitator - Mayumi Yawataya: Writer, Interactive Art Viewing Facilitator ◆ Content: Talk by facilitators, interactive art viewing ◆ Participation Fee: - General: 1,000 JPY - Students under 25: 800 JPY - Affiliates of Japan Association for Women's Education (Career...
