AS specializes in designs that carefully edit the relationship between the city and its surroundings, enhancing the quality of experience while minimizing architectural assertion. For this facility, they have created a space that gently connects the interior and exterior, opening it up to the city. The store's concept is described as having a quiet exterior, but upon entering through a small entrance, visitors are greeted by a 'Sotetsu' (a type of Japanese garden) courtyard, reminiscent of the Setouchi landscape, the brand's origin. This hidden garden acts as a buffer between the city's hustle and the calm interior, bringing light and wind into the space and enriching the visitor's experience from arrival to fitting. Ltd. is an architectural design unit founded by Jun Aoki and Masatoshi Shinagawa.
