The "Japan Reskilling Consortium" (Secretariat: Google LLC), comprised of over 260 participating organizations including national and local governments and companies, is working to update everyone's skills through reskilling (*1) with the aim of creating a society where everyone can thrive. We will distribute free access accounts for the Japanese version of the training program "Google People Management Essentials," where participants can learn Google's management knowledge based on over 20 years of research results online.

The program is available to the first 10,000 new and existing members on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing them to take the course, which normally costs approximately 7,500 yen (*2), for free. The certificate issued by Google upon completion can be used to prove one's abilities by listing it on a resume or business social media profile.

■ About "Google People Management Essentials"

Excellent people management skills are key to success in businesses across all industries. However, in reality, many new managers often start their work without professional and systematic training. This lack of preparation leads to a decline in management quality, which in turn lowers employee engagement rates. As a result, according to a study by Gallup (*3), companies with low employee engagement rates experience reduced productivity, estimated to cause an annual loss of approximately 524 billion dollars to the Japanese economy.

"Google People Management Essentials" is an online course aimed at bridging this gap in people management training, supporting individual career advancement, fostering talent development environments within companies and organizations, and improving economic mobility. It is designed for new managers, team leaders, next-generation leaders, executives, HR personnel, and anyone who wants to maximize team performance, providing fundamental people management skills applicable to any organization, regardless of industry.

The learning time is approximately 8 hours, and participants can proceed at their own pace. In addition to lectures by Google employees, the course includes practical training simulating real business scenarios and training on integrating and utilizing AI tools such as "Gemini" and "NotebookLM" in management tasks.

The Japan Reskilling Consortium has primarily offered free AI-related training programs to date. However, in today's business environment, we believe that not only individual AI skills but also the organizational and comprehensive leadership and management skills to leverage them are essential (*4). Through the free offering of "Google People Management Essentials," we aim to further support individual skill and career development, as well as the development of talent training environments within companies and organizations, and the improvement of talent mobility throughout society.
