Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tomi City, Nagano Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Kazuaki Ikeda) announces the UV inkjet printers "UJV200-130" and "UJV200-160" (hereinafter, UJV200) as new products in the "200 series" of large-format inkjet printers for sign production. They will make their world debut at the international exhibition "International Sign Expo 2026" (Orlando, USA) starting April 8.

The 200 series, developed under the concept of "high image quality and ease of use for anyone," has been widely adopted since its launch in 2024, highly praised for its expressive power achieved through simple operation, by a wide range of customers from long-time large-format printer users to those who have recently entered the print business.

This time, the expressive power of the 200 series has been extended to the UV print method, and "UJV200" has been developed. In addition to supporting a wide range of substrates unique to the UV method, it leverages instant drying properties that allow immediate transition to post-processing and installation after output, realizing an operation that does not interrupt the workflow from output to delivery.

The UJV200 is equipped with a single high-density, high-definition printhead from the "330 engine" installed in our flagship printers, reproducing smooth human depictions with suppressed granularity and uniform, even solid colors with high precision through accurate ink ejection control. From human graphics that naturally express skin texture to beautifully finished solid colors over large areas, it vividly and faithfully renders design intentions in large advertising signs (Figure 1). Furthermore, it can sharply draw fine lines and small characters, demonstrating excellent performance in applications requiring visibility and accuracy, such as commercial facility guide signs (Figure 2).

In terms of usability, the automatic image quality adjustment function has been significantly improved. The time required for adjustment and the amount of substrate used for pattern printing have been reduced to less than half compared to conventional models. Furthermore, automatic adjustment is possible regardless of the substrate color, even on colored or transparent media. It reproduces stable image quality (Figure 3) across a wide range of media and applications, without relying on operator experience differences, contributing to improved production efficiency.
