Japan Digital Design Inc. (CEO: Renpei Iwata, hereinafter JDD) announced on March 10, 2026, the expansion of its generative AI-powered internal procedure search support system, the 'AI Internal Procedure Navigator' (formerly 'Procedure Search Support System'), for employees of Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Ltd. (Director, President & CEO: Junichi Hanzawa, hereinafter MUFG Bank). The scope of procedures covered will also be expanded to generally include operations related to domestic sales branches.
This expansion will increase the user base from the previous approximately 7,000 employees to approximately 20,000, encompassing all domestic sales branches, thereby supporting the efficiency of internal procedure search and confirmation tasks across a wider range.
Background
Internal procedures are vast and vary by department. To enable employees to quickly access necessary information, it is essential to streamline the daily search and confirmation tasks. To address this challenge, JDD began a trial of the 'AI Internal Procedure Navigator,' which offers a conversational search experience powered by generative AI, in July 2025. Based on user feedback gathered during this trial period, and after confirming improvements in accuracy, stable operation, and usability, this large-scale deployment has been realized.
Overview of 'AI Internal Procedure Navigator'
The 'AI Internal Procedure Navigator' generates answers in a chat format using generative AI and simultaneously displays the cited procedure documents. This system is a specialized conversational tool for internal procedure search support. By using it in conjunction with existing search methods, users can access accurate procedure information in a shorter time, contributing to the acceleration of practical work, including the verification of supporting documents.
Overview of Expanded User Base
The system's user base was expanded starting March 10, 2026, with access opened primarily to domestic sales branches. Previously, it was provided to a limited scope of approximately 7,000 users. With this expansion, approximately 20,000 employees will now be able to use the system.
Overview of Expanded Procedures
In addition to the user expansion, the range of procedures accessible to users now generally covers operations related to domestic sales branches. This broadens the scope of search support compared to before, allowing for cross-sectional searching of vast and complexly distributed procedures. Users can also ask questions as if they were asking a colleague, contributing to the efficiency of domestic sales branch operations.
Future Outlook
We plan to continue expanding the user base sequentially, with the goal of providing the service to all employees within fiscal year 2026. We will continuously incorporate usage data and feedback from users to maintain and improve answer accuracy, enhance stable operation, and refine the UI/UX for better usability. Beyond enhancing existing functions, we will also pursue initiatives for the business use of AI agents and prepare for the future realization of AGI. We envision expanding its use beyond procedure search support to become a partner that facilitates daily operations, including integration with customer information and external systems, and support for subsequent tasks.
