JAL Digital Launches New Airport Staff Shift Management System "Sora Shift®"

JAL Digital Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Keisuke Suzuki; hereinafter "JAL Digital") commenced sales of "Sora Shift®*1," a solution that supports airport staff shift creation and management operations, on April 14, 2026 (Tuesday). Provision to customers is scheduled for July. Leveraging its knowledge of aviation and airport operations, which support the entire JAL Group as its core digital company, and its digital technology, the company aims to improve shift creation and management operations for airport workers. The background to the development of "Sora Shift®" is the necessity of appropriately assigning airport staff to provide safe and high-quality services. Therefore, in airport staff shift and assignment adjustment operations, the ability to reliably and smoothly promote a wide range of adjustments is crucial. JAL Digital frequently heard from customers that "shift creation and management operations are limited to a few staff members, and improving operational efficiency is a challenge." To contribute to creating an environment where airport staff can focus on customer value creation, "Sora Shift®" was developed. Sora Shift® is a solution that centralizes necessary information such as flight information, staff skills and qualifications, and other facility information, allowing for the creation and management of monthly and daily shifts. It supports improved operational efficiency with features tailored to the concerns of those responsible for airport staff shift management. Benefits of introducing Sora Shift® include significantly cutting shift creation time (JAL Group companies using this solution have reduced shift creation time by approximately one-third), contributing to improved staff engagement through fair, logic-based assignments, and providing an at-a-glance view of who can do what and to what extent, visualizing staff skill information and human resource development plans. Looking ahead, Sora Shift® will evolve into a "resource management system" that optimizes the allocation, management, and utilization of corporate resources to improve organizational productivity, beyond being just a shift creation and management tool.
