(Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Mitsuko Tottori; hereinafter "JAL") are significantly expanding their partnership to offer members exclusive benefits through new reciprocal status match opportunities for both flights and hotel stays.
This collaboration marks Marriott's first comprehensive partnership with a Japanese airline through its award-winning travel membership program, "Marriott Bonvoy," and JAL's first strategic alliance with a global hotel group.
A New Chapter in Travel Loyalty Partnerships
This partnership takes the existing cooperation between Marriott and JAL to the next level. Through new initiatives such as "mutual status matching," the companies will deliver seamless and comfortable travel experiences from flights to hotel stays.
Members enrolled in both Marriott Bonvoy and JAL Mileage Bank (hereinafter "JMB") will not only be able to enjoy benefits from both programs simultaneously but also achieve higher membership tiers more efficiently, enriching travelers' journeys beyond what was previously possible.
[Benefits for Marriott Bonvoy Members]
Marriott Bonvoy members will earn JAL FLY ON Points simply by linking their accounts. The number of FLY ON Points awarded will vary based on Elite membership status, with higher-tier members receiving more points.
Additionally, Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite members will automatically receive JAL Crystal membership or higher, based on their existing FLY ON Point balance.
[Benefits for JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) Members]
JMB members will gain seamless access to Marriott Bonvoy’s loyalty program, enabling enriched travel experiences through status matching and accelerated pathways to elite status. This partnership grants access to over 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy participating hotels and resorts worldwide, along with elite-only benefits such as room upgrades and late checkouts. Furthermore, JMB Sapphire members and above will automatically receive corresponding Marriott Bonvoy elite status.
