JAL aims to create relationships and connections through travel by selling "Japanese Craft Whisky" produced at craft distilleries scattered throughout Japan, encouraging customers to visit various parts of Japan through this experience.

As the 15th installment of this initiative, "Single Malt Kuju JAL EXCLUSIVE 2026" from Tsusaki Shoji Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taketa City, Oita Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Shoji Udota) will be sold in limited quantities on international flights from May 1, 2026.
1. About Kuju Distillery Kuju Distillery, located in Kuju-machi, Taketa City, Oita Prefecture, embraced by the magnificent nature of the "Kuju Mountain Range," the roof of Kyushu, was established in 2021 by Tsusaki Shoji, which has operated a soy sauce brewery and liquor retail business since the Taisho era, with years of dedication.
"Kuju New Born," announced the year after the distillery's completion, won the Young Spirits category at the WWA (World Whisky Awards), attracting keen attention from whisky fans worldwide. Equipped with beautiful pot stills made by Forsyth's of Scotland, its illuminated, fantastical night view has become a symbol of the region.
2. Product Overview: Single Malt Kuju JAL EXCLUSIVE 2026 This is a non-peated whisky that combines sweetness and strength, vatted from first-fill bourbon barrel new make aged for three years and new American oak new make.
Tasting Note: The individuality derived from the bourbon barrel harmonizes with the woody aroma of the new oak. It features a refreshing fruitiness like orange and a pleasant sweet finish.
