(Joint Release) JAL Airtech and JAL to Launch Campervan Rental Service in April

JAL Airtech Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, President: Ken Morimoto, hereinafter "JAL Airtech") and Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuko Tottori, hereinafter "JAL") will launch "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER", a campervan rental service where users can earn miles, starting in April 2026 with Narita Airport as the first base.

This service allows users to accumulate JAL miles based on the rental fee of a campervan (recreational vehicle, hereinafter "RV"). In conjunction with the launch of this service, we have also prepared specially designed vehicles. We offer unique contents such as the use of JAL in-flight amenities. The dedicated website for "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER" also serves as an RV reservation platform, allowing users to book not only the specially designed vehicles but also more than 20 RVs owned by partner companies (*1).

RVs integrate transportation and accommodation, offering a high degree of freedom in travel. While they are popular mainly among foreign visitors to Japan, they are still in the process of popularization within Japan. This service aims to promote the use of RVs by leveraging the JAL Group's aviation network and customer base. It is also an initiative to connect the "last mile", contributing to solving issues such as the shortage of secondary transportation and accommodation facilities in regional tourist destinations. In operating the RVs, JAL Airtech will utilize the technology and know-how it has cultivated over many years in the maintenance and operation of special vehicles within airports to support safe and secure travel.

"JAPAN RV TRAVELLER" Specially Designed Vehicles Overview

To commemorate the launch of the "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER" service, we have prepared two collaboration cars with VANTECH (*2). The interior and exterior feature special paintwork with airplane and crane motifs.

In addition to basic interior equipment, the vehicles are fully equipped with Wi-Fi, making them ideal for teleworking. They also come with amenities and consommé soup offered on JAL flights. These vehicles are perfect for active outdoors while enjoying original JAL goods.

JAL Airtech and JAL will collaborate with RV rental operators based at airports nationwide, starting with Narita Airport, to grow "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER" into an RV rental reservation portal site. We aim to realize a stress-free travel experience where arrangements for overnight parking spots and local activities can also be completed within the site.

Through the provision and expansion of this service, the JAL Group will propose new travel styles, expand individual spaces, increase diverse options, and contribute to the improvement of well-being by creating "relationships and connections through movement."
