Lalala Sugimoto

The radio station J-WAVE (81.3FM) broadcasts the program "SPARK" every Monday to Thursday from midnight. Starting with the broadcast on Thursday, May 7, it has been decided that singer-songwriter Lalala Sugimoto will serve as the regular Thursday navigator.

Sugimoto, who operates under the motto of "struggling and enjoying life," reincarnated into a "demon" with highly impactful artist photos in June of last year, and further announced a job change to a "death god" in August. His unique character and high singing ability have caused a massive buzz, and the total number of views for his short videos posted on social media has surpassed 60 million.

On J-WAVE, he appeared as a special intermission act at Japan's largest guitar singing festival "J-WAVE TOKYO GUITAR JAMBOREE 2026 supported by Okumura Corporation" held at Ryogoku Kokugikan in March. He greatly excited the audience with his overwhelming performance and comical talk.

In his own program where he will serve as a regular starting in May, he plans to deliver uniquely brilliant segments. These include the "Road to Budokan" corner where Sugimoto, aiming for the Budokan, solicits ideas from listeners on what schedule and challenges he should undertake next, and "Death Tele," a corner under the theme "as long as one lives as a human, troubles are endless," where instead of giving answers, Sugimoto simply listens to the listeners' stories.
