On the J-WAVE (81.3FM) radio program 'PILOT THE ORIGINAL,' airing every Friday at 11:00 PM, the broadcast on Friday, March 27th, will feature navigator KREVA visiting the long-established Nagasawa Stationery Center in Kobe. This two-part special will explore the history of the Nagasawa Stationery Center and the charm of the stationery items that line its shelves.
'PILOT THE ORIGINAL' is a program hosted by artist KREVA, who is always taking on new challenges, centered on the theme of 'things born from the human hand.' KREVA, who jots down his thoughts in a notebook every morning, shares what he thinks and feels in his daily life.
In the first week's broadcast on Friday, March 20th (a public holiday), KREVA, known in the music world as a stationery enthusiast, stepped out of the studio to visit the main branch of the Nagasawa Stationery Center in Kobe, Hyogo. Established in 1882, Nagasawa Stationery Center is a specialty store that has primarily served the Kobe area. At this renowned store, beloved by locals for its long history, KREVA toured the premises, taking a close look at its unique stationery and discovering its appeal.
This week, on Friday, March 27th, the setting moves to Kobe Harborland, with a visit to the Kobe Brick Warehouse store, located in a repurposed brick warehouse built in the late 1890s. Nagasawa Stationery Center designs and sells original stationery that values the sentiment of 'writing' and 'communicating,' including their 'Kobe INK Monogatari' color ink series, which is themed around the landscapes of the international city of Kobe, blessed with beautiful streets and nature.
The program will feature Naoyuki Takeuchi, head of the product development office, who has been in charge of the representative 'Kobe INK Monogatari' ink series for many years. He will discuss the series' origin, which was born from the recovery efforts after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the meaning behind the first color created, 'Rokko Green,' and the creative process of finding new colors by repeatedly walking through the streets of Kobe.
Be sure to watch as KREVA tries out the inks himself, experiencing the depth of their colors and the 'story' that resides within each bottle.
'PILOT THE ORIGINAL' airs every Friday at 11:00 PM. Don't miss this unique, 'freestyle' discussion filled with a love for stationery, brought to you by KREVA, an artist who works with words every day. The broadcast can also be heard on the radiko app. Furthermore, with the radiko time-free feature, you can listen to the show for up to a week after its initial airing.
