Our company supports 'April Dream,' a day to share dreams on April 1st. This press release represents the dream of the 'Sustainable Food Chain Association (SFA).'
About the Sustainable Food Chain Association (SFA):
SFA is a consortium that connects experts, companies, organizations, and local communities through a loose network to verify solutions and build model schemes for sustainability challenges in the food supply chain, such as food waste reduction, which are difficult for a single company to address.
We work to improve food imbalances—where there is food that must be discarded while some people face food insecurity—by collaborating on various demonstrations and awareness-raising activities. We also support those who take these issues on as their own.
In the near future, we will contribute to the expansion of food sustainability and the spread of smiles among many people.
In fiscal year 2026, we plan to promote the following projects:
- 'Kodomo Smiling Project': A project that builds direct trust between the food industry and child support organizations (such as children's cafeterias) through 'food education' to nurture future sustainable consumers.
- Demonstration of fresh and daily food donations.
- Support for food bank organizations under the 'Food Bank Certification System.'
- Study sessions centered on food donation initiatives with food businesses and organizations.
[Initiatives in FY2025]
1. 'Food Donation Project for Children Carrying the Future' (Tokyo Metropolitan Government adopted project).
2. 'Emergency Support Project for Building a Supply System for Unused Food' (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries subsidy project).
3. 'Kodomo Smiling Project': Vocational experience-based food education program.
4. Demonstration of food donations at retail stores: Fresh produce and daily food donation demonstrations.
