Solar Power Generation Equipment and Storage Battery Equipment
Iwasaki Electric began a demonstration experiment in Ishigaki City, Okinawa, at the end of March, combining energy-creation equipment centered on solar power generation with DC power supply technology.
This demonstration is based on the agreement 'Implementation of a Demonstration Experiment on a Self-Sustaining Power Supply Lighting System,' signed on February 5, 2026. It aims to verify the effects of introducing renewable energy and identify operational challenges, with the goal of building a model that supports future energy independence and the realization of a decarbonized society.
Background of the Demonstration Experiment
In recent years, as natural disasters such as typhoons and heavy rains increase due to the effects of global warming, the stability of energy supply has become a major societal theme.
Furthermore, towards the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, the expanded introduction of renewable energy and energy creation initiatives are required.
However, to use the DC power generated by solar energy in homes, it needs to be converted to AC, and the energy loss that occurs during this process has been an issue.
Based on this background, our company decided to conduct this demonstration experiment to verify the potential for more efficient energy use by utilizing DC power supply technology, which is well-suited to the generation characteristics of energy creation.

Overview of the Demonstration Experiment
In this demonstration experiment, the following initiatives are being carried out at 'Apple Park' (894-1 Tonoshiro, Ishigaki City) in Ishigaki City.
- Introduction of renewable energy centered on solar power generation equipment
- Effective use of energy combined with storage batteries
- Verification of an energy system that supplies and utilizes electricity derived from renewable energy as DC
- Monitoring of power generation and electricity usage, and examination of energy operation methods
- Stability evaluation of power supply assuming normal and disaster situations
LED park lights lit by electricity supplied by DC power supply technology. Utilizing stored electricity, the entire park is safely illuminated with sufficient brightness.
