ISF NET JOY Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yoshiyuki Watanabe; hereinafter, ISF NET JOY) held a training session on April 27, 2026, for career guidance teachers at special needs schools in Saga Prefecture, themed "Employment Choice Support Services and the Nation's Vision for Employment of Persons with Disabilities."
This training was conducted with the aim of promoting the new service "Employment Choice Support," established in October 2025, and facilitating smooth cooperation between the educational and welfare sectors. A total of 35 teachers participated in the session.
Background of the Event: Urgent Need for Cooperation Beyond the "Walls" of Education and Welfare
The "Employment Choice Support" service, which assesses individuals with disabilities to help them choose better employment based on their aptitudes and wishes, began in October 2025. However, as the system is new and there are few pioneering cases nationwide, the search for cooperation methods between educational and welfare settings continues.
Particularly from fiscal year 2026, students from special needs schools will also be eligible to use this service, highlighting the challenge for educational institutions of "how to utilize welfare services." In response to this, ISF NET JOY's Saga Office initiated and organized this training session.
Training Content: Sharing "Practical Know-how" Based on Prior Achievements
The training provided insights from ISF NET JOY, which received designation for "Employment Choice Support Service" at the same time the system started and has a record of accepting 7 cases in half a year at its Numazu Office in Shizuoka Prefecture. The following topics were explained:
- Basic knowledge of Employment Choice Support Service and its objectives - Specific challenges and solutions in educational and welfare cooperation - Latest trends in disability welfare and the employment market revealed through the service
Yuichi Katsuragi, a social worker (Manager, Education Division, ISF NET JOY), who spoke at the event, emphasized the importance of multifaceted assessment that supports the future of each student, drawing from his 17 years of on-site support and teaching experience.
Future Outlook
ISF NET JOY will continue to expand various services, including employment transition support and employment choice support, to create "places where those who wish to work can work," while also striving to build strong networks with local communities and educational institutions.
