Many people who support Iruka-ya's dream, and the connection between Iruka-ya and young people.

Our organization endorses April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to announce dreams. This press release is a dream that "Iruka-ya" wishes to realize.

After reporting on Iruka-ya's awareness of challenges and its past activities, we announce our challenge to take a step forward.

## Depression in Japan

It is well known that Japan is a suicide superpower, and especially among young people, the number of suicides is unparalleled worldwide.

Wouldn't you be surprised if I told you that the environment in which children grow up is still deteriorating, without a decrease in consultations for abuse and parenting despite the declining birthrate?

Please look around you.

Is the person next to you smiling?

When relatives gather, are you able to be yourself? At school? At work??
Civilization has continued to evolve without regressing, life has become increasingly convenient, and thanks to AI, work efficiency has further advanced.

So, has this led to more leisure in people's lives?

From Iruka-ya's perspective, children don't seem to be growing up relaxed and at ease; rather, the streets seem to be filled with lives constantly seeking busyness and stimulation.

## Nevertheless, Children are Shining

I touched upon the current difficulties at the outset, but the children I meet at Iruka-ya all have unique, shining personalities, such as being "great at drawing," "environmental博士," "strong in IT," "highly skilled at coordinating people," and "great at singing." Each child looks to the wonderful qualities of others.

Children who go to school and those who don't. Children with many lessons and those with none. Of course, there are various family structures, but we are proud that we have built relationships where such differences don't matter.

Each person is a precious being, whose opinions are heard when spoken, and who receives help when in trouble.

We believe that securing such a space, where these things are taken for granted, is important for growth.

## A World Where Children Can Safely Speak Their Dreams

In a world where nations fight, economies are always unstable, natural disasters repeatedly destroy buildings that existed yesterday, and one might get stabbed walking down the street, adults constantly worry about their children's future, asking, "Will they stumble?" or "Will they fail?"

In this era, children feel society's "anxiety" from the moment they are born, or rather, from when they are still in their mother's womb. Without anyone telling them, silent rules and pressures of "must not fail" and "must not deviate from the ordinary (average?) path" have taken root in their hearts.

From where did this "unknown, invisible enemy" come? I believe that rather than trying to find the cause, we should focus on "how to prevent this invisible enemy from dwelling in our hearts."
