Iris Ohyama Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Akihiro Oyama) will begin sequentially airing its new TV commercial series "I Absolutely Want to Convey" for its packaged rice "Teion Seihōmai no Oishii Gohan®", featuring Ryuji Akiyama of the comedy trio Robert, nationwide starting July 4, 2026.

CM Story

Suddenly appearing in everyday scenes is Akiyama, playing the "Person Who Insists on Recommending Iris's Packaged Rice." With approaches that transcend timing and atmosphere, such as just before a train departs or when offering a seat, the people cornered cannot hide their bewilderment. Yet, they find themselves strangely intrigued and end up purchasing the packaged rice before they know it. We deliver two types of commercials: "I Absolutely Want to Convey 'Now'" which conveys the ease of the 150g size to young people, and "I Absolutely Want to Convey 'This'" which proposes sharing the 300g size with families, with Akiyama's unique performance, close to his natural self, in a way that's a step above his usual distinctive characters.

Ryuji Akiyama Profile

Born in 1978. From Fukuoka Prefecture. Affiliated with Yoshimoto Kogyo. In 1998, he formed the comedy trio "Robert" with Hiroshi Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Baba, and in 2011, they won "King of Conte" (TBS network). He excels at "body impersonations," particularly mimicking Tatsuo Umemiya. He has appeared in numerous variety shows, dramas, movies, and TV commercials, and was a torchbearer for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, demonstrating broad activity. In 2021, the Netflix original series "Creator's File GOLD" was distributed worldwide, and in 2022, to commemorate the 100th creator in "Creator's File," he held a nationwide live tour. The official YouTube channel for "Robert Akiyama's 'Creator's File,'" which introduces cutting-edge creators, has over 1 million subscribers. The "Person Who Insists on Recommending Iris's Packaged Rice," played by Akiyama, will suddenly appear in passing in an elevator, during instruction to a subordinate, and during a live stream. Making-of & Interview

The making-of footage captures the filming process set in a train. You can see behind-the-scenes of the shoot where Akiyama made multiple round trips from the first to the last stop, as well as the cheerful interactions on set. In the interview, his humor-filled talk, including topics like "situations where you usually aim for time-saving" and "what you want to challenge this summer," is also a highlight.

This packaged rice is made with "Teion Seihōmai®," which is milled rice stored under low-temperature conditions of 15°C or below, considered optimal for rice storage, and packaged while fresh. Produced using only "Teion Seihōmai®" and water without any additives, you can enjoy the original flavor and sweetness of the rice, as well as the taste of freshly cooked rice. A wide range of capacities are available to suit your preferences (120g/150g/180g/200g/250g/300g).
