Iris Plaza Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, President: Ryota Iwasaki), part of the Iris Group, has signed a contract with Vegalta Sendai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Shizuo Abe, hereinafter "Vegalta Sendai") as a uniform partner (upper right chest) for the 2026/27 Meiji Yasuda J2 League, under the name of "Daishin," a home center operating in Miyagi Prefecture (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Representative: Tadahiko Otsuka).
The group is engaged in various support activities, primarily in Miyagi Prefecture, with the aim of revitalizing the local community through sports. To date, we have promoted regional sports in a wide range of fields, including the establishment and operation of a rowing club, sponsorship of professional baseball and basketball teams, and youth soccer leagues. Starting in April 2025, we will go beyond mere sponsorship and launch a new program to support the second careers of professional athletes, initiating efforts to create an environment where children who will lead the region's future can aspire to become professional athletes with peace of mind.
As part of these initiatives, Iris Ohyama Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Akihiro Oyama) has continuously served as a uniform partner for Vegalta Sendai since 2000. In April 2026, we will increase our shareholding in Vegalta Sendai to become the largest shareholder, and we are providing support with the future prospect of group integration.
Daishin is a community-based home center with 16 stores in Miyagi Prefecture. It has developed as a pioneer of DIY home centers in the Tohoku region, and since becoming part of the group in 2008, it has aimed to improve the convenience of daily life for local residents by being a close and supportive presence that solves customers' problems. In 2023, we opened "Daishin Next," a new format store, to revitalize the shopping district in the central part of Sendai City. In 2025, amidst escalating concerns about rising rice prices and supply instability in Japan, we were among the first private companies to begin selling government-reserved rice through discretionary contracts, actively engaging in activities that contribute to the local community.
This time, to support regional revitalization and the development of professional sports in Miyagi Prefecture, Daishin has signed a contract to become a uniform partner for Vegalta Sendai for the 2026/27 Meiji Yasuda J2 League. The Daishin logo will be displayed on the upper right chest of the uniform. The new uniform design will be worn by players for the first time at the press conference for new signings on July 3, 2026, and will be worn in official matches starting from the opening game in August 2026. Furthermore, to commemorate the signing of this sponsorship agreement, Daishin will hold a sale at 14 Daishin stores* from July 4, 2026, and plans to implement measures to foster a closer connection with Vegalta Sendai and contribute to regional revitalization.
We will continue to contribute to the further revitalization of the local community through various sports support initiatives.
