The Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA, Chairman: Yutaka Saito) and the AI Safety Institute (AISI) have been conducting discussions on AI security with experts and industry organizations since 2025, aiming for the safe and secure utilization of AI. As a result of these activities, they have now publicly released "Security Trivia for AI Users" (hereafter "Trivia") for general users, and "AI Security Brief" (hereafter "Brief") which compiles the latest trends and information for AI developers and security personnel.

"Trivia" is immediately available in presentation slide format, making it easy to use for in-house training. It will be updated as AI use cases expand and trends evolve.

"Brief" is planned to be published several times a year.

In recent years, while advanced AI technologies such as generative AI have been rapidly put into practical use, security challenges such as AI misuse and attacks targeting vulnerabilities have become apparent. In the "Top 10 IT Security Threats 2026" released by IPA in January this year, "Cyber risks related to AI use" ranked third among threats to organizations. With the increasing utilization of AI, there is a growing need to strengthen security measures and promote their adoption and awareness among both AI users and developers.

"Security Trivia for AI Users" is designed for users who want to understand the basics of AI and security, and it clearly summarizes the minimum security measures that should be taken when using AI. It is provided in a presentation slide format that can be used directly for in-house training and will be continuously updated to keep pace with the expansion of future AI use cases.

"AI Security Brief" introduces the latest trends and case studies in AI security for AI system developers and security personnel. It organizes vast amounts of daily information from an AI security perspective. Previously, it was distributed irregularly to experts and industry organizations. However, in response to feedback from industry organizations who wished for more AI and security personnel to be aware of this information, the latest issue and three previously created issues have been released. Considering the current situation where many individuals may be experts in either AI or security but not necessarily both, we hope this will contribute to raising awareness.

Both materials will continue to be disseminated in the future. Please download and use them as needed.
