Invision Inc., an HR company based in Nakameguro, Tokyo, which supports recruitment and organizational development to foster essential human connections by nurturing and delivering the core values and natural charm of organizations both internally and externally, has launched the "Action Prompt Project." This project creates and provides "mechanisms for change based on human principles" that bring about changes in the behavior of individuals and organizations.

About the Action Habit Project: JOBTRIP

"I want to change the behavior of individuals and organizations, but why is it so difficult?" To put an end to this question that every executive faces at least once, we have created the "mechanism for change based on human principles," Action Habit Project: JOBTRIP. Instead of short-term results like sales techniques to boost revenue, we design simple yet crucial mechanisms for fundamental change as human beings, with a mid-to-long-term perspective, and will verify behavioral changes in 400 individuals both inside and outside the company.

Background of the Action Prompt Project Implementation

"I want to change the behavior of individuals and organizations, but why is it so difficult?" This is a question I've encountered many times over my 18 years in HR, supporting recruitment and organizational development for my own company and clients. At the same time, I've realized the power of words in defining the "purpose of a company's existence" as a common element in organizations where people grow.

This is the same for individuals. In Buddhism, the elements that cause humans to accumulate karma are said to be the three elements of "body, speech, and mind." By training these three elements, behavior changes. Human behavior is determined by the questions that have the highest priority for that person. Unless one re-examines what their "mind" is fundamentally, they cannot change their behavior. People who steadily advance towards their goals can articulate what is important to them right now and clarify their current position. Furthermore, people who act with such conviction receive some kind of reaction from those around them.

Currently, only 6% of adults in Japan feel happy at work. While common concerns include "I don't know what I want to do" or "I don't have a place to belong" in work and life, confronting and verbalizing "Why am I here?" will surely become a "treasure map."

For Invision Representative Yoshida, this year marks a milestone as his son enters high school and his daughter enters junior high school. At a time when he wants to impart "what is important for humans" to his own children, he also wants to share it with people inside and outside the company.

First, the project was launched targeting Invision members. We will verbalize the mid-to-long-term ideal state and current position of the team and individuals, and narrow down the habitual actions to five to approach the ideal state. This initiative is also being expanded to stakeholders. The results of behavioral changes in individuals and teams through the project are scheduled to be published in a book to be released in two years, commemorating the 20th anniversary of Invision's founding.
