Tasting Seminar Held for Press and Industry Professionals
Mr. Yusuke Nakanishi, Sommelier, served as the seminar lecturer.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, a tasting seminar for press and industry professionals was held in Tokyo. Mr. Yusuke Nakanishi, a Sommelier Excellence certified by the Japan Sommelier Association and deeply knowledgeable about Loire wines, was invited as a lecturer. He introduced the diversity of Loire wines to approximately 70 guests with clear explanations.
The Loire region has 34 AOPs and 1 IGP, and from these, 18 types of wines were selected for this seminar. With a wide lineup including sparkling, white, red, rosé, and dessert wines, the content allowed participants to experience the 'diversity' of Loire wines. In addition, local dishes from the Loire region were specially prepared, allowing guests to enjoy wine pairings.
At the venue, a display was set up to represent the Loire River, France's longest river, using the Loire Valley Wine Council's theme color, 'Loire Blue.' Guests experienced the charm of Loire wines not only through taste but also visually.
Participants commented, 'Loire wine alone was delicious, but it became even more delicious when paired with food!' and 'It was great to experience such a wide range of wines, from sparkling to white, red, and sweet, all at once.' The event concluded successfully.
The event featured 18 types of wines from 13 AOPs and IGPs, and a display inspired by the Loire River.
Sommelier Seminars to be Held in Four Major Cities Nationwide
With the cooperation of the Japan Sommelier Association, wine seminars targeting sommeliers will be held in four major cities nationwide: starting with Tokyo on Monday, May 25, 2026, followed by Nagoya (July), Fukuoka (September), and Osaka (November).
