Starting this year, the X Games League (XGL) kicks off, featuring four mixed-gender teams (Skateboard and BMX) aiming for the annual championship.
In addition to the traditional individual medal battles at each event, four teams of the X Games Club (XC) will compete for the overall team championship across the X Games scheduled this summer in three cities (Sacramento, Chiba, New Orleans).
The four teams are based in some of the world's leading creative and action sports hubs: Los Angeles, New York, São Paulo, and Tokyo.
Each team consists of 10 athletes: 5 men and 5 women from skateboarding and BMX disciplines. The teams feature diverse rosters representing various nationalities and ages. The city names have no relation to the nationalities of the affiliated athletes.
