Black Belt Global Venture Studio (hereafter, BBV) is pleased to announce the selection of 12 startups, ranging from Pre-Seed to Series A, from over 70 domestic and international applicants for the "TOKYO SUTEAM" program, a startup support initiative by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

The selected startups will work on creating businesses based in Tokyo with the support of BBV, launching new ventures in Japan or localizing overseas technologies for the Japanese market.

**Program Details**

BBV is a venture creation platform that provides integrated support from the creation to the growth of startups. Based on the "Science of Startups" research from the University of Oxford, it utilizes data from over 21,000 companies to scientifically design team composition and decision-making from the early stages of founding, aiming to create startups with a high probability of success. Furthermore, by combining the investment and business development expertise of Japan Tech Ventures with the global network of Innovation Dojo, it provides practical support for the creation and growth of promising startups.

In contrast to traditional evaluations centered on products and markets, BBV adopts an approach that focuses on the "founding team." This enables the creation of more replicable investment and collaboration opportunities.

As an example of the selected startups' progress, the overseas startup Chipmetrics (Finland) is making concrete strides toward fundraising and establishing a Tokyo base, showing high execution capability for business development in the Japanese market. On the other hand, while domestic startups are mainly in the pre-seed stage, the cohort includes teams like Performance DNA Platform (Japan), which holds patents and is advancing initiatives with a view to global expansion. From the perspective of the founding teams' characteristics and future potential, high potential is expected.

**List of Selected Startups (12 Companies)**

For this program, startups with global potential from diverse fields such as AI, semiconductors, space, healthcare, cloud, music, and education were selected.

1. **AdjunctX (USA)**
A creator app that allows executives to share their expertise, enhance their external presence, and share knowledge and networks. It is developing an AI-powered learning and networking platform to address the issue of specialized knowledge remaining with individuals and being underutilized. It provides a mechanism to connect with and learn directly from industry leaders on a request basis, promoting the circulation and utilization of knowledge.

2. **BistroTech (Japan)**
Developing a platform that provides climate and environmental intelligence using satellite data. To address the challenge of dispersed earth and space data being complex and difficult to use, it collects and analyzes open data from sources like JAXA, converting it into a mobile-friendly format to provide practical insights and tools for ESG assessment and climate risk analysis.

3. **Chipmetrics (Finland)**
Provides measurement chips and wafers for semiconductor manufacturing that visualize parameters inside 3D structures, which were previously difficult to measure. It supports quality control, process optimization, and yield improvement in 3D semiconductors and thin-film processes.

4. **Clowak Innovations (India)**
Develops a natural oral care solution for dogs and cats that can be used simply by mixing it with water. Addressing the issue that the burden and difficulty of continuous tooth brushing increase the risk of periodontal disease and systemic illnesses, it uses the antibacterial action of lauric acid to act directly on the cause of plaque, enabling stress-free daily oral care.

5. **Exos Aerospace Systems & Technologies (USA)**
Engages in the development and operation of low-cost, reusable suborbital rockets for space applications. It addresses the challenges of high costs, long development periods, and lack of testing opportunities faced by space development companies and government agencies by enabling high-frequency flight tests and data acquisition, thereby shortening development time and improving reliability.

6. **EyeVita (Japan)**
Develops a medical solution that combines a smartphone-mounted fundus camera with AI diagnosis, enabling general practitioners to perform fundus examinations. It addresses the problem of delayed early detection of diseases with a high risk of blindness due to a shortage of ophthalmologists and an uneven distribution of diagnostic opportunities. By providing low-cost, simple examinations and AI diagnosis, it enables early detection.

7. **Mezusphere (Japan)**
Developing a next-generation platform that simplifies the construction and operation of cloud services. It addresses the difficulties startups and development teams face with infrastructure setup and ensuring security by providing an integrated foundation with authentication and communication functions, enabling the rapid construction of a secure and scalable environment.

8. **Mostro (France)**
Provides a music fintech platform where artists can issue tokens and connect directly with fans. It addresses the problem of artists not earning sufficient revenue and fans having difficulty directly supporting and discovering them. By enabling fundraising and community building through tokens, it expands revenue opportunities and strengthens relationships.

9. **MotionsCloud (Germany)**
Automates inspection and damage assessment processes in the insurance, mobility, and aviation industries using AI image recognition. By linking image analysis and automated photography with IoT and external data, it eliminates subjective manual work and realizes a rapid, standardized, data-driven inspection system.

10. **Nurselink (Japan)**
Develops a nurse call system utilizing an app. It addresses the issue of inefficient responses arising from patients' needs not being communicated in advance. By visualizing requests and managing priorities, it improves the efficiency of nursing operations and prevents missed responses.

11. **Performance DNA Platform (Japan)**
An AI music learning platform that digitizes the body movements of musicians during performance, allowing users to visualize and learn the techniques of their admired "oshi" (favorite) performers. It addresses the challenge in music learning where physical sensations and tips are not visualized, making improvement difficult and causing many learners to give up. By visualizing and sharing the physical knowledge of performers as data, it provides a new learning experience, improving acquisition efficiency and turning skills into assets.

12. **StructAI (Australia)**
Develops a design support platform that automates the NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) design of automobiles using Graph AI. It accelerates the structural design, cause analysis, and design change processes, leading to shorter development times, improved quality, and cost reduction.
