Indonesia Research Institute Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Albertus Prasetyo Heru Nugroho, hereafter 'the Company') has been continually commissioned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center to set up and operate the 'FY2026 Tokyo SME Support Desk Indonesia'.

This project is a public support desk designed to solve local business challenges for SMEs in Tokyo aiming to expand into the rapidly growing Indonesian market. Based on our abundant track record of supporting expansions into Indonesia cultivated since our founding in 2011, and the relationships of trust built with SMEs in Tokyo through operating this project over the past two years, the Company will continue to handle the operation this fiscal year.

■ Support details of 'Tokyo SME Support Desk Indonesia'
At this desk based in Jakarta, specialized staff well-versed in local business customs and laws provide support based on the following three pillars, tailored to the needs of SMEs in Tokyo.

1. Business Partner Matching
We support finding reliable partners locally, from listing trustworthy distributors, sales destinations, and collaborative partners to securing business meeting appointments and accompanying you to web meetings.

2. Provision of Local Business Information
We create simplified research reports (market overview, trends, competitors, related regulations, etc.) according to corporate requests, providing 'raw' information essential for decision-making.

3. Management Consultation
We carefully respond to and advise in Japanese on complex issues unique to Indonesia, such as import procedures, registration procedures for establishing a local subsidiary, legal regulations, and tax/accounting.

■ Background and Operating Structure
Backed by abundant labor force and purchasing power, Indonesia is attracting global attention as an appealing market, but the barriers of language, culture, and business customs remain high. Since our founding in 2011, the Company has supported over 500 Japanese companies in expanding into Indonesia. This fiscal year as well, through close cooperation between the Jakarta office and the Tokyo office, where over 100 staff are stationed, we will fully utilize our local network and specialized knowledge. With an end-to-end support system ranging from market research to partner search, we will back up the challenges of SMEs in Tokyo.
