indent, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuuki Kamagata, hereinafter “indent”), which operates Nola (Nora), a creative platform connecting over 650,000 creators with businesses, has taken charge of the production and creative management of the vertical-scroll digital comic 'Alius: The Avenger' (Script: Yasunori Kasuga, Original: ALIUS Project / WOWOW · Rakuten, Production: indent), produced by Rakuten Group, Inc. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Hiroshi Mikitani, hereinafter “Rakuten”) and WOWOW Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hitoshi Yamamoto, hereinafter “WOWOW”) as part of their joint 'ALIUS' project.

Official ALIUS Project Website

To date, indent has aimed to be a platform connecting creators and businesses, providing comprehensive support—from original work scouting to development and production—for companies seeking to create in-house IPs that can expand into media mix formats, starting with manga and vertical-scroll digital comics. Leveraging a total of over 2.5 million works and more than 70,000 new works created each month, indent offers end-to-end solutions for discovering original works with next-generation potential and co-producing them.

As part of these efforts, since July 2025, indent has partnered with 'Rakuten Content Central' (Rakuten Content Central), Rakuten’s content label responsible for IP development and comprehensive content production, to jointly promote original IP scouting (https://indent.co.jp/news/1hdife). In this project, 'Alius: The Avenger,' indent collaborates with Rakuten to produce and manage the vertical-scroll digital comic, aiming to create a new content experience through multi-faceted, cross-media expansion.

Set in an original world where a different human species, 'Homo Alius (ALIUS),' possessing a genetic sequence distinct from modern humans (Homo sapiens), exists, the project delivers two stories from different perspectives. One is a serialized drama following detectives investigating a series of murders in the present day; the other is a comic depicting a young man’s revenge set 15 years ago. When the massive conspiracy hidden behind each story is revealed, unexpected connections between the two works emerge. The comic’s protagonist appears as a key character in the drama, and various interlinking elements are embedded across the works. We invite audiences to enjoy both the serialized drama and the vertical-scroll digital comic simultaneously, experiencing new insights, surprises, and deep emotional resonance.

Going forward, indent will continue to champion its mission of 'maximizing the potential of the content industry and producing works that captivate the world,' contributing to the further development and revitalization of Japan’s entertainment and creative industries by serving as an agent connecting creators and businesses.
