Rittosha, a publishing label handling literary and cultural content at Rittor Music Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Daisuke Matsumoto), part of the Impress Group, has released "Osamu Tezuka Missing Pieces: Juvenile Works - The Ant and the Giant" (Author: Osamu Tezuka) on June 12, 2026.

This book primarily collects works published in school magazines during the 1960s. Because they were intended for young boys and girls, they contain the author's message more clearly and retain their fresh appeal even today. Among the works, it includes the original version of "The Ant and the Giant," which has been redrawn entirely and exists in three versions, for the first time. Additionally, "Hello Inside My Desk," "Chamy 1000," "Captain Ozma Goes to the Defense Exhibition," and "My Dream: A Fantastic Space Journey" are included in their original published forms. Notably, the speech bubbles in "The Ant and the Giant" and "Chamy 1000" reproduce Tezuka's own handwriting, offering a flavor unobtainable with printed text.

This book is the seventh in the series, following "Black Jack Missing Pieces" (published November 2023), "Dororo" (published November 2023), "Phoenix: Homeward Path," and "Princess Knight," as well as "Osamu Tezuka Missing Pieces" and "Black Jack Missing Pieces Second Operation." We invite you to explore a part of the profound depths of Osamu Tezuka's creativity.
