<<Purpose of Publication and Content Introduction>> This book is a collection of parenting tips for busy dual-income families on how to foster 'self-propulsion'—the ability for children to think, learn, and act on their own.

The author raised two children while working full-time and, through trial and error, both were able to enter the University of Tokyo on their first attempt. However, this was not achieved through special gifted education or excessive exam preparation.

What she valued most were home habits from early childhood, the way she spoke to her children, creating an environment that nurtured curiosity, and the children's own proactive attitude toward learning.

In this book, the author explains specifically what parents should be conscious of at each stage of growth, from infancy to high school. By comparing her real-life experiences with both junior high and high school entrance exams, she introduces ways to learn without over-relying on cram schools, how to interact with children without forcing them to study, and how to create a home environment that fosters self-efficacy and language skills.

What should parents do to help their children carve out their own lives? This book conveys practical wisdom for parenting that fosters the 'power to live'—going beyond just passing exams—based on relatable, real-world experience.
