In Japan, the 'Information System Security Management and Assessment Program' (ISMAP), launched by the government in 2020, is currently in operation. ISMAP is now being used as a benchmark for security assessment not only by the government but also by local municipalities and critical infrastructure industries. It is possible that similar assessment systems will emerge in the private sector in the future.

This book aims to explain how users can safely utilize cloud services and what providers should do to ensure this, focusing primarily on ISMAP. Drawing on approximately 15 years of experience in cloud service information security auditing research since 2009, the book was written by an editorial committee formed by volunteers from JASA.
