We are pleased to announce that the "IIJ Electronic @ Contact Service" (hereinafter referred to as the Electronic @ Contact) has been introduced in Misaki Town, Okayama Prefecture, as part of regional welfare initiatives, commencing in October 2025. This marks the first implementation of the Electronic @ Contact service within Okayama Prefecture. The Electronic @ Contact is a "multi-professional collaboration platform" that connects professionals supporting regional life, including those in medical care, welfare, nursing care, and administration. It has been providing services as an ICT platform for sharing patient information of elderly individuals and children receiving home medical care among doctors, nurses, pharmacists, care helpers, and care managers since April 2017. Currently, it has been adopted by 76 municipalities nationwide, with over 27,000 users. Background of Introduction Misaki Town, located in the central part of Okayama Prefecture, faces complex and multifaceted challenges that are difficult to address with traditional field-specific support systems for children, disabilities, poverty, and the elderly, such as double care (※1) and the 8050 problem (※2). To address these issues, the town is engaged in the "Layered Support System Development Project," which aims to provide three types of support: "Consultation support regardless of attribute," "Participation support" (※3), and "Support for community building," through the integrated efforts of the administration and social welfare-related organizations. In this initiative, in addition to fostering collaboration beyond organizational boundaries between the administration and related organizations, strengthening inter-organizational cooperation within the administration and establishing a communication infrastructure for efficient information sharing among support providers were identified as challenges. In response, Misaki Town, based on the implementation plan for the Layered Support System Development Project formulated in 2025, has officially adopted the Electronic @ Contact after verification among the administration, social welfare-related organizations, and support providers, and has begun utilizing it as an information collaboration platform for community support. Moving forward, it is expected to be utilized as a tool to promote DX within the town. (※1) A state where childcare and care for parents or relatives occur simultaneously. (※2) A social problem where many families face economic hardship and social isolation, with parents in their 80s supporting the lives of their children in their 50s. (※3) Providing opportunities for interaction, employment support, housing support, etc., to help individuals who have difficulty participating in society regain connections. Service Image
