EID Inc. (Headquarters: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hiroshi Miyakawa) has conducted a satisfaction survey targeting users of new electricity providers and announces the "New Electricity Award 2025."
Amidst rising prices, how do consumers feel about electricity as a vital infrastructure? This satisfaction survey was conducted to mark the 10th anniversary of electricity liberalization. New electricity providers are also seeing active participation from telecommunications companies.
Reasons for choosing a new electricity provider included "electricity rates were cheaper" and "pricing plans/discounts (including set discounts) were attractive." Additionally, many respondents chose options such as "points can be earned/used" and "campaigns (discounts/point offers) were attractive."
Regarding the duration of using new electricity providers, 48.4% have been using them for over 5 years, and a high 69.3% of users expressed their intention to continue using them.
