President Hiroshi Ide Engages in Direct Dialogue with New 2026 Employees

On April 1, IHI held an event for new employees for the fiscal year 2026, where top management directly communicated the group's vision and engaged in a lively Q&A session. The purpose of this event was to provide each new employee with an opportunity to reflect on their own future and challenges.

[President's Message (Summary)] Not all work at IHI yields immediate results; some things take a long time to take shape. Neither success nor failure is the end. What's important is to keep going no matter what. That's why I want you to hold onto your own axis—where you aim to go and what you value in your work—and face the tasks before you without giving up. If you're in trouble, don't keep it to yourself; speak up. I expect you to make full use of the IHI environment and continue to take on new challenges.

During the event, it was discussed that the IHI Group has continued to transform amidst a significantly changing business environment and that it is necessary to continue taking on challenges in the future.

Furthermore, new employees posed many questions to the president, such as 'What does the president consider to be IHI's strengths?', 'What should we be doing now to move towards the ideal state of 2040?', 'What kind of human resource development support is available?', 'What is the most important thing you value?', and 'What do you expect from new employees?'.

In response to these questions, the president spoke candidly, drawing from his own experiences about the attitude of facing challenges and the importance of continuous learning.

IHI, together with its newly joined members, will continue to aim for sustainable growth as a company that fundamentally supports the safety, security, and affluent lifestyles of people around the world, while valuing the challenges of each individual.
