Igaku-Shoin Ltd. (Location: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Shun Kanehara) will hold a free web seminar, "'Iron Rules for Internal Medicine Residents' Seminar 2026," on May 29 for doctors who became residents this spring and their supervising physicians.

Delivering "Extremely Practical and Immediately Useful" Content in a Seminar Format for Residents Full of Expectations and Anxiety

Even as residents, doctors in clinical settings are constantly required to take appropriate action immediately after assessing urgency and importance. To do so, it is reassuring to organize essential knowledge based on cases frequently encountered in the field.

The book "Iron Rules for Internal Medicine Residents" responds to these needs of resident doctors. It has gained immense popularity from numerous readers every year as a book that instills the "iron rules of internal medicine" into new residents based on educational cases. By reading this book, one can learn "exactly how to think and respond to cases actually experienced, from the perspective of a resident."

At St. Luke's International Hospital, driven by a passionate desire to "nurture residents with practical skills," the "Internal Medicine Core Conference" is held every Saturday morning at 7:00 AM. This conference aims for super-residents, who have already received extensive education from all specialists and accumulated sufficient experience, to lecture newcomers on the "iron rules of internal medicine" in an easy-to-understand manner. Chief residents, who act as reliable seniors, know better than anyone else in the hospital "what new residents do not understand," and the content is reputed to be "extremely practical and useful."

The first half of this seminar reproduces the aforementioned conference, which served as the foundation for "Iron Rules for Internal Medicine Residents," and will be highly beneficial for new residents heading into the clinical field. It is also an excellent reference for supervising physicians.
