Kokorogoto Cafe, operated by Idea Human Support Services Co., Ltd. (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Mariko Ukiyo), will begin introducing 'Shobameshi' – meals selected by top athletes and professionals who continue to achieve results in various fields – from May 1st.

Background and Purpose

Recent research has shown that diet significantly affects mental aspects such as concentration and emotional stability. Reports indicate that dietary improvements can reduce mental health issues by approximately 30%, and data also show that eating habits can lower the risk of depression by about 30%. A common trait among those who achieve goals and consistently produce results is that they place great importance on diet. It is not just about 'what to eat' but 'why they eat' – diet is a strategic nutritional management for achieving results.

Against this background, 'Shobameshi' has been gaining attention in recent years. Shobameshi is not merely a superstitious ritual; it has evolved into a 'meal that approaches both mind and body' – supporting physical development and recovery through nutritional design, while also contributing to mental satisfaction and stability by incorporating favorite foods and rewards.

Whether for top athletes, professionals in specialized fields, or anyone seeking results in their own arena – such as exams, work, or creative activities – having a 'Shobameshi' that maximizes one's performance is considered an important form of self-conditioning.

Furthermore, in the mental training provided by the operating company Idea Human Support Services, diet is positioned as a key element supporting performance, alongside emotion and behavior management and sleep quality improvement. Through the introduction of 'Shobameshi,' the company aims to deepen understanding of the relationship between diet and mental health.

Introducing 'Shobameshi' Chosen by Professionals

Kokorogoto Cafe is visited by top athletes from around the world and professionals excelling in diverse fields such as business and creative industries. By focusing on the background of why they choose certain meals and at what timing they incorporate them, the cafe will provide hints and opportunities for self-conditioning that can be applied in daily life through each person's 'Shobameshi'.

Partial Menu Introduction

What is 'Kokorogoto Cafe'?

Kokorogoto Cafe

Under the concept of 'Feast for the Mind and Body,' this cafe was planned by the Japan Psychological Federation (Zen-shinren) as a place where anyone can casually receive counseling and therapy, just like drinking tea at a cafe. In February 2014, under the operation of Idea Human Support Services, the cafe 'Kokorogoto cafe' with psychological counselors opened. The counselors devised a four-color food menu and 'Kokorotalk & Counseling' to energize both mind and body, receiving many orders such as 'Iced coffee and 60 minutes of counseling' from businesspeople.

From May 2024, the cafe was reborn as 'Kokorogoto Cafe' in Aoyama, focusing on fruit tea and art therapy, and also serves as a workplace for Ukrainian evacuees. With flowers, carefully chosen tableware, body- and mind-friendly fruit teas, and low-sugar menus, it is used as a relaxing haven for visitors. The art therapy-inspired 'Kokorotalk' features popular sessions such as 'Talk with Miniatures' (based on sandplay therapy) and 'Talk with Crayons' (based on art therapy).

From April 2026, qualified members of Zen-shinren, the industry association of psychological counselors, will be stationed as 'Trouble Concierges' to listen to visitors at any time.
