InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8, a luxury waterfront hotel in Yokohama’s Minato Mirai area, has announced that it will begin selling special fireworks viewing accommodation plans from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The plans are timed to coincide with the Yokohama Green Expo-supporting “Minato Mirai Festival,” scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2026. The festival is one of Yokohama Minato Mirai’s signature summer fireworks events. Thanks to the hotel’s waterfront location surrounded by the sea on three sides, selected rooms and the rooftop offer exceptional views, creating a premium vantage point for guests to enjoy the fireworks up close. Plan A guarantees a guest room with fireworks views and includes a special one-night-only fireworks chirashi sushi box prepared by Katabami, the sushi restaurant on the hotel’s third floor. Guests can enjoy the fireworks in a private setting while dining in their room. Fireworks viewing from suite rooms with balconies is positioned as an especially luxurious experience unique to the hotel. Plan B provides access to fireworks viewing seats at Rooftop 1859, located on the hotel’s rooftop floor, with one drink included. Guests can enjoy large fireworks blooming in the night sky while feeling the sea breeze. Rooms under Plan B do not offer fireworks views. Both plans include breakfast. Guests booking rooms with club access may have breakfast in the club lounge. Rooftop fireworks viewing seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are not reserved seats. Outside food and drinks are not permitted; beverages will be sold by the hotel on the rooftop. The stay date is Monday, August 24, 2026. Reservations open at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, via the hotel website only. Rates start from JPY 152,000, including consumption tax and service charge, and vary by room type and plan. The plans are non-cancellable and non-refundable. Cancellations from Friday, July 24, 2026 onward will incur a 100% cancellation charge. Even if the fireworks event is canceled due to weather or other reasons, guests who cancel the stay will still be charged 100%. The plans are offered at special rates and are not eligible for upgrade benefits, including member benefits. Details of the fireworks event should be checked on the official website: https://www.mmsf.yokohama/ InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8 opened in October 2019 within Yokohama Hammerhead, a complex combining commercial facilities, a cruise terminal, and a hotel.
